What is a facilitator?

A facilitator is “a skilled person who makes a process or action easier”

My approach to facilitation

I love to facilitate and create the conditions for active participation in meetings, workshops and events.

As a professional facilitator, I focus on how a group of people will work effectively together. For example, how they can generate new ideas and identify solutions to problems.

I believe that every client group I work with already has the knowledge, wisdom and creativity it needs. Therefore, my role is to tap into it, helping the group make the most of opportunities and tackle challenges together. First I work with you to design a bespoke plan for your event that will enable everyone to feel involved. So your participants can contribute their ideas confidently, making decisions and achieving shared outcomes.

The sessions I facilitate may involve a few people or a large number, be a one-off meeting or part of a series of events. I manage the time, space and energy – planning activities that help shift old patterns of conversation and bring out the best thinking from the group.

How to find out more

You can find out about who I work with by scrolling down on this page. Or head to How I work to find out about my 7 step plan for facilitation success.  You can read about my professional skills and expertise under Experience and What I do.  And if you’d like to find out more about facilitation and discuss how I can help you, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’d love to hear from you!

Who I work with

I work with people and organisations committed to making a positive difference in the world. This includes charities, social enterprises, other not for profit organisations and ethical businesses.

Does this sound like you?

My clients are typically time poor leaders who are juggling multiple priorities. So, what they want is someone with a really good understanding of their context. Someone they can rely on to provide cost effective, professional facilitation support to help them achieve their goals. They often like to discuss their initial ideas for meetings, a workshop or event but leave the detailed planning and facilitation to me.

  • Do you want to stimulate fresh ideas, planning and action from your team?
  • Are you wanting to be involved in group discussions rather than lead them?
  • Do you want to ensure that everyone contributes and feels listened to?
  • Are you looking for a friendly, approachable and professional facilitator to work with?

If you’ve answered “Yes” to any of these questions, then why not contact me now for an informal chat? I’d be happy to discuss your needs and discover how I might be able to help you.
